Tuscher fastest in GP3 testing

Matheo Tuscher kept the Jenzer team on top of the times on the second day of GP3 testing at Yas Marina.

While Kevin Ceccon put Jenzer ahead on Thursday, it was Tuscher who topped the times on Friday by going quickest in the afternoon session. The Swiss driver's 1m55.583s laptime put him ahead of Formula Renault NEC race winner Seb Morris, who was second fastest for Status.

Trident's Luca Ghiotto rounded out the top three, the Italian also having posted the best time in the morning session. The 13 quickest times of the day were, however, set in the afternoon.

Spaniard Alex Palou was fourth fastest after switching from Trident to ART, which put him ahead of GP3 race winner Jimmy Eriksson in the Koiranen car.

Ferrari protege Antonio Fuoco was sixth quickest ahead of 2013 McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award winner Matt Parry in the second Status machine.

The day was interrupted by three red flags, the first caused by Tatiana Calderon, who hit the barriers in the morning. Australian Dylan Young spun later on in the morning, while a final red flag meant an early finish to the afternoon when Mitch Gilbert stopped on track.

The GP3 test concludes on Saturday.
