Dario Franchitti receives MBE

Dario Franchitti officially received his MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) "for services to motor racing" from Great Britain's Duke of Cambridge during an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

The Scot, who retired from racing after suffering serious injuries in a crash at the Houston IndyCar race in 2013, was announced back in June as an MBE recipient as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Franchitti took part in the ceremony on Wednesday alongside fellow honorees actor Damian Lewis and rugby player Kevin Sinfield.
