Borseth plans European RX campaign

Former European Rallycross Touring Car champion Knut Ove Borseth plans to contest the European Rallycross Championship next season.

Borseth won the TouringCar title in 2009, before graduating to Supercar in a Ford Focus for selected outings. He embarked on a full-time drive with the Hedstroms Motorsport team in 2013 and finished fourth overall in Hungary driving a Skoda Fabia, but spilt from the squad partway through the year. He spent 2014 on the sidelines.

"We will be back where should be next year, on the track. Competing and inspiring the youngsters in our Drive for Life organization through the exciting spectacle that is rallycross," said Borseth, who runs an organization near the Hell circuit in Norway called "Drive for Life," catering for children who do not fit into the traditional education system and giving them experience within motorsport. His 2015 team will run under the "Drive for Life RX" banner.

"Our organization is devoted to inspire and motivate children and teenagers, to believe in themselves and their future," he added. "The rallycross team is unique because of our social profile and the work that the organization does. We aim to add something extra to the sport."

Borseth also plans to run a second Ford Focus for a yet to be announced driver in the series.
