NHRA: John Force to be on "CBS News Sunday Morning"
"CBS News Sunday Morning," the network's long-running show with news, features and commentary, will include a segment on NHRA Funny Car star John Force during this Sunday's broadcast. The entire John Force Racing family and team will be featured as CBS reporter Lee Cowan spent time with the Force family at their Yorba Linda home as well as the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle. Currently John Force is No. 1 in the Mello Yello point standings followed by Robert Hight No. 2 and Courtney Force No. 4 in the Funny Car class. Top Fuel sophomore driver Brittany Force is currently No. 10 in the Top Fuel point standings.
The show will air from 6-7:30 a.m. ET this Sunday, Sept. 28 (check your local listings for air time in your area.)
Meanwhile, NHRA's Pro Mod Drag Racing Series is also set to get TV time on the Velocity Channel. The first telecast will air on Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m., and will feature the stars of the NHRA Pro Mod Series from the O'Reilly NHRA SpringNationals at Houston. Velocity Channel will air the remainder of the season in 30-minute shows during the course of the following nine weeks, with the final show airing on Dec. 7.
Masters Entertainment Group, which has a long and storied history of producing quality programs for the NHRA, produced each of the shows.
"The cooperation from the NHRA Pro Mod racers has been incredible," said Ted Jones, president of Masters Entertainment Group. "They really were excited to get their own television series on Velocity Channel. The NHRA Pro Mod Series is the only drag racing series on Velocity, which is the fastest growing automotive network in the country."
Featuring the world's fastest and most unique "doorslammer" racecars, the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series is highlighted by '68 Camaros, '67 Mustangs and '68 Firebirds, as well as a variety of late-model cars.
