Audi's Lucas Di Grassi on Formula E vs LMP1 energy systems

Audi LMP1 driver Lucas Di Grassi tells The RACER Channel about winning the first Formula E race and describes some of the similarities in electric energy harvesting, usage, driving techniques and sound differences between the two cars.

"I am very happy to be the first winner of the Formula E. The car is quite tricky to drive and as you might have seen in the last lap video, I was in the right time at the right place!" he relates.

"At the moment all the Formula E cars are exactly the same, so there is no Audi hybrid technology in that car. But from year 2 onwards, there is the possibility to develop your own parts, even your own car if you want to, so it depends if the manufacturers will join. But if Audi decides to do their own car, then yes, there's a lot of technology that we can use from the LMP1 car – which is much more advanced."
