Johnson Sets Fastest Time In GS In Ford Mustang Boss 302R During Practice 2
Subtitle:BMW Of Borcheller Quickest In Second Practice
The sun broke through at Circuit of The Americas for Thursday afternoon’s second Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice session, with Billy Johnson and Terry Borcheller leading their respective classes.
Johnson led the Grand Sport (GS) class with a lap of 2:23.754 in the No. 158 Multimatic Motorsports/Miller Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302R. Dane Cameron was second in the No. 28 Tim Bell Racing Nissan 370Z, 2:24.129, followed by Eric Curran in the No. 01 CKS Autosport Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R, 2:24.677.
Borcheller led the Street Tuner (ST) class with a lap of 2:31.538 in the No. 23 Burton Racing BMW 128i. Driving not far from his home in Austin, Jeff Mosing was second with a lap of 2:31.568 in the No. 56 Murillo Racing/Mosing Motorcars Porsche Cayman, followed by Remo Ruscitti in the No. 04 Autometrics Motorsports Porsche Cayman, 2:31.643.
Next up for the Continental Tire Challenge will be TOTAL Pole Award qualifying at 5:30 p.m. ET.
