MotoGP: De Angelis recovering from fracture
Alex de Angelis will undergo daily treatment in preparation for next weekend's race at Aragon after being diagnosed with a fractured scaphoid.
The Forward Yamaha rider, who replaced Colin Edwards early last month, complained of right wrist pain throughout his home event at Misano last weekend, where he finished 14th and ahead of championship leader Marc Marquez, who crashed for the first time this season.
De Angelis visited a nearby hospital on Monday for a medical check and doctors confirmed he had sustained a fracture to the carpal scaphoid of the right wrist.
The 30-year-old Italian is currently wearing a support brace and, through daily magnetic and laser treatment, hopes to participate in his fourth event for the Forward team at Aragon. He joins Mike de Meglio on the injury list, the Frenchman also undergoing surgery for a fracture to his left hand after he fell off at the start of the Misano race.
