WEC: OAK expands its WEC LMP2 lineup
The French OAK Racing team will field an additional LMP2 entry in three of the final four rounds of the World Endurance Championship.
OAK, which is switching its G-Drive Racing entry to a Ligier coupe for next weekend's Circuit of The Americas round, will enter a Judd-powered Morgan LMP2 at the Fuji, Shanghai and Sakhir events for a revolving lineup of drivers.
Alex Brundle and Gustavo Yacaman, regulars in the United SportsCar Championship with OAK, will share the car with Japanese Keiko Ihara at Fuji in October.
Ho-Pin Tung and David Cheng, who race for OAK in the Asian Le Mans Series, will take over driving duties for Shanghai in November along with U.S. racer Mark Patterson. Ihara and Cheng will then share with Patterson in Bahrain later in November.
Ihara joins the OAK lineup after starting the season with the Morgan-equipped Larbre team, for which she raced at the Silverstone European Le Mans Series opener and at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The car will run in OAK's traditional pink and black livery.
