Colin Thompson Racing Chooses Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer as Official Charity

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (Sept. 9, 2014) – Colin Thompson is a young and aspiring professional race car driver racing the #14 Kelly Moss Porsche of Bucks County Porsche GT3 for the Colin Thompson Racing Team. Colin Thompson Racing has made the decision to name the Austin Hatcher Foundation as their official charity. It is because of Colin’s deep care for children facing cancer that makes him a great addition to the Diversionary Therapy division at the Austin Hatcher Foundation for pediatric cancer.

Not only is he an aspiring race car driver but he has a very soft spot in his heart for children with cancer. It all started with a hospital visit to Golisano Children’s Hospital were he formed a bond with a young boy. Colin, of his own accord, took it upon himself to pursue a relationship with the young boy. This has evolved into Colin taking time out of his busy race weeks to play and visit with children in hospitals for cancer treatments.

“Colin embraces us and our goals at the Austin Hatcher Foundation. He is a good race car driver with great potential and has presented a genuine heart for children with cancer,” said Senior Director of Marketing Mark Osmundson. “We are looking forward to this partnership and think he is a great guy to join our team.”

This past year Colin has participated in two hospital visits with the Diversionary Therapy Division with the Foundation. The first was at the Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY, where he visited 30 children. And the second was at the Hersey Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA, where 10 children were visited.

Colin is thrilled to call the Austin Hatcher Foundation his official charity and the Austin Hatcher Foundation is just as happy, and looking forward to future events and visits with Colin.
