Ceccon tops GP3 practice at home

Local racer Kevin Ceccon set the pace in free practice at Monza ahead of this weekend's GP3 races on the Italian Grand Prix support bill. The Jenzer driver lapped in 1m38.656s on slicks on a track that was wet at the beginning of the session following a shower.

Manor's Patrick Kujala ended the session second quickest, ahead of Matheo Tuscher in a second Jenzer car. Robert Visoiu was fourth, followed by Emil Bernstorff and Dean Stoneman.

Championship protagonists Alex Lynn and Richie Stanaway spent much of the session almost tied together on times.

Stanaway beat Lynn in the closing stages but was only 10th fastest overall. Lynn was 12th, the duo separated by 0.072sec.
