Porsche shuffles GTE pro lineup

Porsche has reshuffled its GTE Pro class lineup for the remainder of the World Endurance Championship. It is bringing in Richard Lietz from its TUDOR United SportsCar Championship squad to share the #91 Manthey Porsche 911 RSR with Jorg Bergmeister from the Circuit of The Americas round on Sept. 20.

Patrick Pilet, who contested the first three races with Bergmeister, will move across to share the #92 car with Frederic Makowiecki in place of Marco Holzer, who will now concentrate on test and development duties.

Because Pilet is still recovering from arm injuries sustained in practice for the VIR round of the TUDOR Championship last month, Nick Tandy has also been entered in the #91 car for COTA as a precaution.

"This puts us in a very good position for the remaining races of the season and our campaign for the WEC title," Hartmut Kristen, boss of Porsche Motorsport, said. "Marco Holzer is an excellent test driver. He will support us for the rest of the season as a development driver for future factory and customer racing vehicles."
