Pirelli World Challenge Travels North for Penultimate Event
TOPEKA, Kan. (Aug. 29, 2014) – Brainerd International Raceway will be the setting for Rounds 11 and 12 of the Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car, Touring Car A and Touring Car B-Spec classes. You can catch every minute by logging onto www.world-challengetv.com to view each race via live streaming.
In TC, Michael DiMeo is the runaway Drivers’ Championship leader. Heading into this race weekend, DiMeo has amassed nearly double the points of his next closest competitor in the standings.
Aside from adding to his massive lead, DiMeo can rewrite the record books. With eight wins this season, DiMeo is tied with Peter Cunningham for the most wins in a single season.
The TCA Drivers’ Championship is tight toward the top of the standings. Jason Wolfe holds the lead over Shea Holbrook by a 33-point margin.
The TCB class is led by Brian Price with 995 points earned toward the Drivers’ Championship, thus far. Nathan Stacy is second in the standings, 75 points behind. With neither of those two drivers scoring a win during the last event at Mid-Ohio, both drivers will be looking to change that as the 2014 campaign winds down.
Both races of this doubleheader weekend will be covered via live internet broadcast, which can be seen by going to www.world-challengetv.com. Starting Aug. 30, at 4:45 p.m. (CDT), will be Race One. The event will be capped off by coverage of Race Two Aug. 31, at 12:50 p.m. (CDT).
