Bike Ride To Help Raise Funds For Camp Boggy Creek
For many years, driver Memo Gidley has been an important part of the Camp Boggy Creek family. As a donor and participant in the annual IMSA Day at Camp, Memo has always been quick to embrace the importance of allowing children with serious illness to forget they “have what they have.”
On Sept. 6, the 4th Annual Camp Boggy Creek Challenge Ride cycling event will help raise the funds needed to support the summer programs at Camp as well as its Family Retreat Weekends.
As Memo continues his recovery from a crash in the Rolex 24, he is experiencing many of the same challenges as the children who come to Camp. They too face difficult surgeries, long recoveries and the uncertainty of outcomes. And, like Memo, these campers face it head on…upbeat, positive and hopeful because Camp gives them the tools to do that.
With Memo’s permission and encouragement, IMSA is sponsoring the Challenge Ride and has created TEAM MEMO as a way for fans, drivers, teams, sponsors, and officials to encourage Memo in his recovery and support Camp Boggy Creek, a Proud Charity of IMSA.
