Corvette Racing will field a car in the World Endurance Championship round at Austin's Circuit of The Americas next month.
A solo Chevrolet Corvette C7.R will be entered in the GTE Pro class at the WEC round on Sept. 20, which takes place on the same day as the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship event which the Pratt & Miller-run team will contest with its two regular entries.
Corvette Racing full-time driver Tommy Milner will share the car with Chevrolet Prototype teammates Ricky Taylor and Jordan Taylor, who has raced a Corvette at the Le Mans 24 Hours for the past three years.
Chevrolet motorsport boss Mark Kent said: "This is a great opportunity to race in both the TUSCC and the WEC at Circuit of The Americas. The event will shine a spotlight on Chevrolet and the Corvette brand domestically and internationally.
"It is important for us to support our partners in the USC as well as the FIA and Automobile Club de l'Ouest [promoter of the WEC] during one of the biggest weekends for sportscar racing in North America."
EXTREME SPEED TAKES ON LMP2
Meanwhile, fellow TUDOR Championship squad Extreme Speed Motorsports squad will also bolster the WEC grid at COTA by splitting its pair of HPD ARX-03b P2s between the domestic and international races.
Johannes van Overbeek and team co-owner Ed Brown, ESM's best-placed crew in the Prototype points, will contest the IMSA round in the morning. Brown will then join Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel in the team's second HPD for the six-hour WEC race in the afternoon.
