An 18-year-old grandson of Chip Ganassi Racing co-owner Felix Sabates was killed Saturday night in an accidental shooting in Florida.

The Palm Beach Post reports that Feliciano Sabates was shot in the chest by a 17-year-old when he waved a 9mm handgun that the group of juveniles and adults had been passing around the group during a party. Sabates, known as “Chany” to his friends, reportedly died at the scene in the Palm Beach Gardens apartment. The 17-year-old shooter has been charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence.

Mimi Sabates, daughter of the NASCAR and IMSA team co-owner, posted on Twitter: Thank you to everyone offering prayers. My beautiful nephew is gone and so much love is much appreciated #RIP ChanyBoy
