HARRISBURG, N.C. - CRP Racing, along with sponsors EMKAY Fleet Management and Hawk Performance, is pleased to announce IndyCar driver Alex Lloyd will be piloting their winning Corvette at the Pirelli World Challenge Rounds 11 & 12 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course August 1-3 in Lexington, Ohio.Born and raised in England, Alex began racing karts at the age of nine. His success in Europe was rewarded in 2004 when he tested with the legendary Formula One racing team McLaren Mercedes. In 2006, Alex and his family moved to the U.S. to continue his career in motorsports. The move quickly paid off when Alex won the 2006 Indy Lights Championship. In 2010, Alex competed in his first full season in the IndyCar Series, finished fourth in the Indy 500 and won the IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year Award. Alex now lives in Indianapolis and is lead writer for Yahoo Autos.

Says Alex, "For me, it's a huge thrill to be back behind the wheel in a professional race. I can't thank EMKAY, Dave Roberts and Hawk Performance, as well as Nick Short at Competition Race Parts, enough for making this happen.

"Naturally I'll have a lot of rust to shake - it's been 4 years since my last road course race at Sonoma in 2010, but I'm up for the challenge and can't wait to get started. Hopefully I continue to make improvements during the weekend and can have a competitive race. I'm just ecstatic to be back."

Alex has already found himself in the driver's seat of the CRP Racing Corvette this year-first at the inaugural Indianapolis Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational in June and again at The Hawk with Brian Redman at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. This will be Alex's first professional event with CRP Racing and team owner, Nicholas Short, is very optimistic. "We are very happy to have a driver of Alex's caliber racing with us," says Short. "We are looking forward to working with him here and future races to come."
