Bell Racing USA launches 2014 social media photo contest

Bell Racing USA will launch a social media-based photo contest on Aug. 1; the contest platform will include Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and will conclude on Oct. 8. Bell Racing USA utilizes the same name on all three social media outlets: bellracingusa.

The contest will consist of three prizes for the most unique or unexpected Bell Auto Racing Helmet photo as judged by the staff at Bell Racing USA and the number of likes, shares or retweets from the users after a final 10 photos are chosen. The idea is for everyone to Instagram, tweet or Facebook their favorite photo of a Bell race helmet in places that normally wouldn't show up through the regular racing action.

"Bell is looking for unique and creative photos that encompass the lifestyle a racer leads off the track while traveling, at home, relaxing, on vacation or anywhere the racer goes," said Bell Racing USA's Social Media Coordinator Toby Hallett. "The 2014 Bell Photo Contest offers racers a great way to express their personality, sense of humor and passion for the sport. There are several times a year a racer is in an unfamiliar place, unique situation or historic venue and we would love to see a Bell helmet in these unexpected settings."

The top prize for the contest, which is open for submissions from Aug. 1 through Sept. 22 at 11:59 pm CST, will be the winner's choice of either a Bell Racing USA RS.7 Carbon valued at $1299.95 or a cash prize of $1000. The final 10 photos will appear on all of Bell's social media outlets beginning on Sept. 23 and will be open for shares, likes and retweets until Oct. 5 at 11:59pm CST. The podium style finish will create three winners with second place receiving a choice of any one Bell Racing USA Pro Series Helmet suck as the GP.2, GTX.2 or the GT.5 Touring models all valued at $599.95 or a cash prize of $500. Third place will have the choice of any one of the Bell Racing USA Racer Series helmets or a cash prize of $250.

The contest is very simple, just upload a picture of your Bell Auto Racing Helmet in a unique or unexpected setting to any of the three social media sites and use hashtag #championswearBell – that is how the company will be able to search the content uploaded daily to select its 10 finalists. Once Bell has determined the final 10 they will be contacted via social media for more information. The official rules will be released at www.bellracing.com in the news section of the website and will be available throughout the contest on the homepage of the site.

The contest will be open to everyone except direct employees of Bell Racing USA. "We encourage our dealers, professional drivers, all other racers, and even those without a helmet but happen to capture a shot of a Bell Auto Racing Helmet in one of those unique or unexpected situations to submit a photo," the company said in its announcement of the contest. "We are very excited to see the photos and look forward to October 8th when the winners will be announced!
