Mahy has neck surgery after Spa 24 Hours crash
British amateur driver Marcus Mahy, who crashed heavily in last weekend's Spa 24 Hours, has undergone successful neck surgery.
The 53-year-old had the operation on Monday and remains in intensive care in the CHU hospital in Liege, to which he was airlifted after the accident on Saturday evening. Mahy "continues to make good progress," according to a statement.
The accident happened shortly before the six-hour mark of the Blancpain Endurance Series event and involved Mahy's Kessel Racing Ferrari 458 Italia and the Rinaldi Ferrari driven by Vadim Kogay.
