Owen Trinkler Brickyard Sports Car Challenge Race Review

The #98 CRG-I Do Borrow Honda Civic Si driving duo of Owen Trinkler and Sarah Cattaneo would show pace in each session on the new track layout at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the latest round of the 2014 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series in their Street Tuner machine.  Sarah would handle the qualifying and start of the race duties, and performed well by putting their #98 Honda Civic Si in 9th place to start the race.

The initial stint for Cattaneo would go well and the race was clean for most of her stint.  She was able to settle in and pick her spots for passes, getting up to 7th place in the running order when she turned the car over to co-driver Owen Trinkler.  Moments after a great pit stop that could have put them in the class lead once a Grand Sports class competitor hit Trinkler from behind causing a spin and rear damage.  Trinkler would do his best to stay out and pick up as many spots as possible, but the damage was limiting his ultimate pace until the end.“This was a tough race for the CRG-I Do Borrow team at Indy.” Trinkler continues; “It was a great pit stop by the Rum Bum crew, we would have been in the lead after all the pit stops happened, but a GS car wanted to use my car as his brakes going into turn 1.  The car was never right after that, but I’m still proud of Sarah and our entire team, they gave us a fast car right off the truck.”  The next round of the series will take place at Road America in two weeks.  The team will work to not only fix the damage from Indy, but get the results they have been working towards since the season began. The Brickyard Sports Car Challenge at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will take the green flag at 2:35pm EDT will re-air on Fox Sports 1 on August 3rd at 12:00 PM EDT.Source:
