Zamparelli quickest in GP3 practice

Dino Zamparelli headed the 45-minute free practice session at the Hungaroring on Friday evening, although he stopped on track at the end of the session causing a red flag.

Zamparelli lapped the Hungarian GP venue in 1m33.901s, beating ART Grand Prix teammate Alex Fontana by 0.345sec after setting his fastest time. However, Zamparelli stopped out on track before Turn 2, and the session was ended early.

In a flurry of fastest times at the end of the session, the likes of Patric Niederhauser, Marvin Kirchhofer and Fontana headed the times until Zamparelli dipped into the 1m33s bracket.

Kirchhofer finished third to make it an ART 1-2-3, ahead of Emil Bernstorff, Niederhauser, Matheo Tuscher and Hockenheim winner Jann Mardenborough.

Points leader Alex Lynn finished the session in 20th, although he did set the fastest first sector time. Title rival Jimmy Eriksson was one place ahead of him in 19th.
