Multimatic Motorsport / Miller Racing on a Roll Heading to Indianapolis

The Multimatic Motorsports / Miller Racing team, based in Markham, Ontario, Canada, hopes to maintain its newly-found momentum as it heads for the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway this week for Round 7 of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC).
Hot on the heels of the team’s best performance of the year, with a double-podium finish of second and third places in Round 6 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly known as Mosport International Raceway) on July 12, the team is looking to continue its good performances this weekend.
The road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been revised this year, and the repaved, 14-turn, 2.435-mile circuit will hopefully provide an even playing field for all the teams.
Drivers Scott Maxwell and Jade Buford, in the No. 15 Ford Mustang Boss 302R, and Ian James and Billy Johnson, in the sister No. 158 Boss 302R, are optimistic that the team’s good fortune can continue.
“Hopefully the momentum from Mosport will carry over,” said Maxwell, “although I don’t feel this new track configuration really suits the Mustang. It’s pretty ‘Mickey Mouse,’ with lots of corners and no real character, which is quite a contrast after coming from Watkins Glen and Mosport this past month. But, as always, the team will give it our best and hopefully that will translate into a solid result.”
“I’m really looking forward to Indy and the new track configuration,” said Buford. “Hopefully we can continue to build momentum and bring home another positive result.”
“Coming off the back of a great race at Mosport, we need to repeat at Indy,” said James. “The track should be okay for our Mustangs, and the team has been working hard between races. We’re going to work hard to get on the podium again for our partners at Total Care Auto and Prestige Financial.”
"We finally got the bad luck out of the way for a double-podium last weekend at Mosport,” said Johnson. “We look to continue that momentum at Indy with a new track configuration this year that is greatly changed from what has been run the last couple years. The team has given us great cars all season, and I'm looking forward to another great race at one of the world’s most famous tracks.”
The on-track action will get underway on Thursday, July 24, with 30- and 60-minute practice sessions preceding a 15-minute qualifying session. The 2.5-hour race is scheduled to take the green flag at 2:35 p.m. EDT on Friday, July 25.
