Campos to run China Formula E team

Campos Racing will be in charge of running Team China during the inaugural Formula E championship that kicks off later this year. The agreement was announced on Friday and it means former Formula 1 driver Adrian Campos will become team manager of the Formula E squad. Steven Lu will be team principal.

Campos's team will be in charge of the technical direction of the Chinese squad. Its FE program is in addition to its GP2, World and European Touring Car and Euroformula Open activities.

Team China is the only Formula E squad without any confirmed drivers yet, but it said Campos is now finalizing the lineup and an announcement is expected soon.

Sometime Lotus F1 reserve Jerome d'Ambrosio, factory Corvette racer Antonio Garcia and GT driver Juan Manuel Lopez have all appeared in the China cars during FE's Donington Park tests so far.

The Formula E season begins in Beijing on Sept. 13.
