Action Express Racing to Carry Whelen Livery at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Bowmanville, Ontario (12 July 2014) – The Action Express Racing No. 5 Corvette Daytona Prototype driven by Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa will carry the Whelen livery in the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix Presented by Hawk Performance for the remainder of the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship event in Canada.The No. 31 Whelen Corvette DP entry of Marsh Racing was forced to withdraw from the race event after a significant practice crash on Friday.“Sonny Whelen is a great friend of our team and he deserves to have a car in this race,” said Action Express Racing Team Owner Bob Johnson. “It’s an unfortunate situation for the Marsh Racing team to not be able to compete tomorrow, but we’re glad to be able to carry Whelen with us on the No. 5 tomorrow. We plan to bring home a great result.”The Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix Presented by Hawk Performance is set to go green at 2:05 PM ET tomorrow and will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 beginning at 2:00 PM ET.
