GP3: Yelloly on top as Stoneman crashes
Nick Yelloly topped the practice times at Silverstone on Friday evening, leading a British 1-2-4-5 on home turf.
Status GP driver Yelloly set a 1m47.504s on his final flying lap, which followed a red flag for another Briton, Dean Stoneman, crashing heavily into the tire wall at Stowe. Stoneman was unhurt.
Yelloly finished 0.294sec ahead of ART's Dino Zamparelli, who topped the times for much of the session. Marvin Kirchhofer broke up the British dominance of the session, going third fastest in his ART machine.
Emil Bernstorff was fourth quickest for Carlin, ahead of Arden's Jann Mardenborough. Points leader Alex Lynn was a lowly 11th.
