Bristol pumps up entertainment value with new seats, longer race

Ahead of its NASCAR races next month, Bristol Motor Speedway has moved to enhance fan experiences at the legendary short track. Fans can get even closer to the action with a new premium seating option. In addition, 50 laps have been added to Friday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race on the Aug 20-23 weekend slate.

"We have the best fans in all of motorsports, and each year it is our goal to make their time at Bristol Motor Speedway more memorable than the last," said BMS Executive Vice President and General Manager Jerry Caldwell. "The Edge Deck, our newest way-to-watch, allows fans to be on the brink of the action, giving them a front-row seat of the cars coming off Turn 1.

"There's also the newly expanded Food City 300, which gives fans 50 more laps of Bristol racing and enhances an already awesome day of knockout qualifying and nighttime Nationwide Series racing. Our friends at Food City appreciate Bristol's loyal fans just as much as we do, and I'm thrilled they chose to express their gratitude by adding even more value to Friday's ticket."

Food City 300

Expanded by 50 laps, the Food City 250 becomes the Food City 300 in Aug. 2014. The lengthier event caps off a full day of on-track action that includes Sprint and Nationwide Series knockout qualifying and two rounds of Sprint Cup practice.

Despite the increase in track time, BMS officials maintained 2013 ticket prices, choosing to add value to the fan experience without raising costs. Fans also may reap benefits through Bristol Motor Speedway's "50 Laps, 50 Days, 50 Winners" sweepstakes that began Tuesday, July 2. Daily prizes include tickets, autographed merchandise, Food City gift cards, race-day experiences and more.

The Edge
Hanging on the fringes of Turn 1, The Edge Deck is a standing-room only option available to fans for the first time in August. In addition to moving thrill seekers hair-raisingly close to the cars rocketing around the "World's Fastest Half Mile," passes to the premium area come with a Track Walk Pass good for access prior to the IRWIN Tools Night Race, a $25 food credit at BMS-Levy Concession Stands and access to The Edge Deck's full bar and food service amenities.

The ticket upgrade is completely transferrable so ticket-buyers may share with their friends and family. Passes are valid for Friday's Food City 300 and Saturday's IRWIN Tools Night Race.

Cost to experience a full weekend of racing inside the Last Great Colosseum begins at just $99 with single-day Saturday tickets starting at $75. Tickets to attend Friday's full day of racing are priced as low as $35 with youth ages 15 and under receiving half-price admission.

Seats for one of the most competitive doubleheaders in racing – Wednesday night's Whelen Modified 150 and Camping World Truck Series UNOH 200 presented by ZLOOP – start at just $30 with free entry for youth age 15 and under.
