IndyCar: Houston works to avoid track invasion repeat

Houston GP officials are cooperating with IndyCar to avoid a repeat of an incident on Sunday morning in which two people managed to walk onto the track during a live session.

Television cameras picked up two men jogging across the track shortly after it went green for qualifying. They reached an access point in the barrier just as a Rahal Letterman Lanigan car rounded the corner and came into view.

An IndyCar spokesperson said that series officials were determined to ensure that the breach was not repeated.

"We're working diligently with promoters to ensure that all track access points are properly secured," he said.
