Rallycross: Foust wins again at Kouvola

Tanner Foust repeated his 2013 success at Kouvola to win the fourth round of the World Rallycross Championship.

Foust led the rain drenched final from start to finish while teammates Andreas Bakkerud and Reinis Nitiss battled for second -- Nitiss initially in front before being passed by Norwegian Bakkerud on lap one.

Krzysztof Skorupski had his best run of the season to finish fourth, ahead of Anton Marklund and Joni-Pekka Rajala who retired at the start of the race, having only been allowed to start after last row qualifier Petter Solberg failed to make it to the grid.

Solberg's damage had come from a four-car first corner pile-up in the seccond semi-final. The Norwegian crashed into Liam Doran who had been collected by Toomas Heikkinen and Derek Tohill.

Solberg managed to make the restart while the others could not and, while he did finish the race, he could go no further.

Peugeot 208 driver Timmy Hansen had a dramatic day. He rolled his car in the third heat leaving little time for his team to repair it before the fourth heat.

They managed to and he made the semi finals, but then slid off. A similar fate that befell Hansen's team-mate, Timur Timerzyanov - the Russian collecting two punctures from hitting a barrier on the first lap.

Former Formula 1 driver Jacques Villeneuve had another torrid weekend and was consistently stuck in traffic in the early heats. His chances of making the semi finals were destroyed by a puncture in heat four.
