Rallycross: Villeneuve to race despite test crash
Jacques Villeneuve will contest round three of the World Rallycross Championship at Hell this weekend despite rolling his Peugeot 208 Supercar in testing in Sweden on Wednesday.
With the car too badly damage to repair before the Norwegian event, Albatec Racing team principal Andy Scott, who usually drives the squad's second entry, has stepped aside to allow the former F1 and Indycar champion to race his car this weekend.
Villeneuve failed to score a point at the opening world rallycross round in Portugal last month, and missed the following round in England as he was competing at the Indianapolis 500, where he was 14th of the 26 finishers.
The Albatec Racing squad now faces a race against time to repair the damaged car before round four of the series at Kouvola in Finland in two weeks' time.
