IMSA: Ganassi, Ford top second Detroit practice

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates improved two positions from this morning's opening practice session as Scott Pruett pushed the No. 01 Ford EcoBoost turbo DP to a fast lap of 1:26.582. Set in warmer conditions, Pruett's time was marginally slower than the 1:26.475 posted by Ford stablemate Oswaldo Negri Jr. a few hours earlier.

Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP driver Richard Westbrook was second, turning a 1:26.911 in the No. 90 entry, and Extreme Speed Motorsports' Ryan Dalziel closed out the top-3 with a 1:27.027 in his HPD ARX-03b P2 car. The gap between the leading DP and P2 was slightly reduced in the second session from 0.581 to 0.445.

GT Daytona saw Flying Lizard Motorsport's Spencer Pumpelly post a 1:33.756 in the No. 45 Audi R8, while Leh Keen, driving the No. 22 Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT America ran second with a 1:34.280. Kuba Giermaziak, also driving a Porsche, was third for NGT Motorsport with a 1:34.288 in the No. 30 911 GT America.

Up next is qualifying for Saturday's 100-minute race on the streets of Belle Isle.​
