Leonard to make Blancpain GT debut

British Aston Martin team Leonard Motorsport will make its Blancpain Endurance Series debut at Silverstone this weekend with British GT front-runner Jonny Adam. The newly established squad will field its Aston Martin Vantage V12 in the Pro Cup class at the second round of the BES on Sunday, with AMR factory driver Adam joining team regulars Steve Leonard and Paul Wilson.

Adam worked with Leonard and Wilson, who are contesting the VLN long-distance championship on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife this year, when the Leonard Motorsport AMR operation was formed ahead of the start of the season.

"I've worked with them at the beginning of the year to get them acquainted with the Aston," Adam said. "Both of them were really quick straight out of the box. They've driven it enough and hopefully it will be a good weekend."

The Leonard Aston brings the Silverstone entry to 45 cars, a total which has been boosted by the addition of a Triple Eight BMW Z4, the Generation Bentley Continental GT3 and Beechdean AMR's Vantage V12 from the British GT Championship.

AMR driver Alex MacDowall, who is contesting the World Endurance Championship with the Aston factory team, joins Beechdean boss Andrew Howard and Daniel Lloyd in the Aston.
