MotoGP: Pedrosa has surgery for arm pump
Dani Pedrosa underwent surgery on Tuesday after beginning to develop compartment syndrome – otherwise known as arm pump – during recent MotoGP races. The Honda rider had the operation on his right forearm in Barcelona's Quiron Dexeus University Hospital, with regular MotoGP surgeon Dr. Xavier Mir carrying it out.
Pedrosa is currently on a streak of eight consecutive podium finishes, but has not won a race since last October's Malaysian Grand Prix. He trails dominant teammate Marc Marquez by 28 points in the championship at present.
The surgery will not impact on Pedrosa's participation in the next round of the series at Le Mans on May 18.
