Marklund adds X Games to Rallycross schedule

FIA World Rallycross Championship driver Anton Marklund will take a break from the series after Lydden Hill to contest the X Games at Circuit of The Americas in June.

Marklund competed at the X Games last year, but crashed out at the first corner of the Last Chance Qualifier.

"I am thrilled to race at Austin X Games this June," said the former RallycrossRX TouringCar champion. "It is an honor to compete against such a talented group of racers. I'm hopeful that my progress will get me a place on the podium."

Marklund will join fellow Volkswagen-backed drivers Tanner Foust and Scott Speed in the field for the X Games. The Americans will be racing for the Andretti Autosport team using Marklund's 2013 Polo RX Supercars.
