GP2: Ricci joins Trident in management role

Originally on Autosport.com

GP2 race winner Giacomo Ricci is to return to the series in a management role with Trident.

The 28-year-old Italian made 44 GP2 starts across the main and Asia series between 2008 and '11, with his sole main championship win coming with DPR at the Hungaroring in 2010. He began his move into team management with Auto GP squad MLR71 last season, having raced sporadically for the squad since his GP2 stint ended.

Ricci will now replace Luca Zerbini as team manager across Trident's GP2 and GP3 operations.

The team has one vacancy left in each of its line-ups at present, having so far recruited experienced race winner Johnny Cecotto Jr. for GP2, and ex-Indy Lights racer Victor Carbone plus South African Roman de Beer for GP3.
