Edwards driver expected to recover

The driver of the Porsche that crashed killing Sean Edwards at Queensland Raceway is expected to survive his injuries.

Will Holzheimer is currently in an induced coma at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where he is being treated for multiple fractures, including two broken legs and a broken right arm. Contrary to early reports, he did not suffer any burns in the accident, despite the Porsche 996 GT3 car bursting into flames.

The cause of the accident, which is believed to have happened on the final lap of the coaching session, still remains unclear, although Holzheimer was not unfamiliar with the car as he had competed in it for his family-run Dellow Racing team in regional races.
