Bradl ruled out of Phillip Island

LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl has been ruled out for the rest of the Phillip Island MotoGP weekend due to the injury he suffered at Sepang.

The German fractured his ankle in a practice crash last weekend. He underwent surgery in Malaysia on Monday in an effort to race in this weekend's Australian round.

Although Bradl was permitted to compete in Friday morning practice at Phillip Island, he was only 20th fastest, 3.9 seconds off the pace.

After the session he underwent further medical checks and has been withdrawn from the event.
