Loeb joins Carrera Cup for Macau

Sebastien Loeb will race in Macau next month in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

The nine-time World Rally champion has already contested the Porsche Supercup rounds supporting the Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix earlier this year.

The Macau event will give Loeb some experience of the famous circuit ahead of racing there in the World Touring Car Championship next season.

Loeb ended his illustrious WRC career in France last weekend and will now focus on circuit racing. He is already competing in this year's FIA GT Series with his own team.

Oliver Schwab, Porsche China's motorsport manager, said the series regulars would be thrilled by Loeb's appearance.

"We are certain that all our exceptional drivers are excited by the prospect of racing wheel-to-wheel with this legendary star on one of the most challenging racetracks in the world," he said.

The Porsche event takes place on Nov. 9-10, one week before the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix and WTCC finale.
