Caterham restructures tech department

Caterham has restructured its technical department in a bid to ensure it is ready to make the most of the 2014 F1 regulations.

With the team having openly focused on opportunities that the new V6 turbo engines offer, it has now broadened the role of its performance director John Iley to oversee a new Advanced Projects Group. The team has also promoted operations director Jody Egginton to the position of deputy technical director.

Mark Smith, Caterham's technical director, said: "I am pleased that both Jody and John have agreed to take on the enhanced responsibilities we are asking them to embrace as part of this re-organization."
