Paffett handed grid penalty
Gary Paffett has been given a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's DTM race at Oschersleben for illegally using a set of tires during free practice.
The HWA driver, who is starting his 100th race in the series this weekend, was sixth fastest in the session and the best of the Mercedes clan. After the session, however, race officials determined that the Briton had used a set of slicks that was not allocated to his car for the Oschersleben weekend and issued the penalty.
Another Mercedes driver, RSC Mucke's Daniel Juncadella, was also given a five-place penalty, this time for using a single slick that was not allocated to his C-coupe.
