Charles Pic has been reprimanded after a near-miss with Sebastian Vettel during second practice for the Belgian Grand Prix.
The Caterham man lined up a move on team-mate Giedo van der Garde heading into the Bus Stop chicane, but went in too deep and ran both himself and the Dutchman wide. The 23-year-old then rejoined directly in front of Vettel, who was forced to take avoiding action, spoiling his lap.
The reprimand was handed to Pic for “causing a dangerous situation when rejoining the circuit.”
Pic, who sat out first practice as Heikki Kovalainen took over driving duties, ended the second session 20th overall.
Van der Garde meanwhile was 19th, but lost the rear of his car and spun into the barriers exiting the Stavelot-Paul Frere complex 15 minutes from the end.
