Spies suffers dislocated shoulder

Ben Spies will miss this weekend's Indianapolis MotoGP race after sustaining a dislocated left shoulder in Saturday morning practice.

The Pramac Ducati rider was making his return to the championship this weekend having finally recovered from the injuries to his right shoulder that had sidelined him for much of the last 10 months.

Spies's accident happened at Turn 4 during the third practice session. He suffered a high-side and came down shoulder-first on his crashing bike before hitting the ground.

After Indianapolis, MotoGP has another two races on consecutive weekends at Brno and Silverstone. Andrea Iannone, who is also returning following injury this weekend, will represent Pramac alone for the rest of the Indianapolis round.
