OK, it’s not an F1 car, but this 1979 Renault Estafette van, which serviced Niki Lauda’s team in Ron Howard’s upcoming movie, “Rush,” is a vintage piece of ’70s F1 and now you can buy it at a charitable auction in the UK benefiting children in need..
The charitable auction “CarFest South Pride and Joy Auction,” which is set for Aug. 25, describes it this way:
“This little Renault started life as a humble fire truck in a small town on the French/Swiss border. It was brought to the UK in 2012 and the van was spotted for the role in Howard’s film before a light recommissioning. Recently painted in the correct factory paint and approved period decals this van would be at home both to show or at the racetrack lugging tools and spares around. It even comes complete with very fat Avon racing tires on the period roof rack. The ultimate addition to any Ferrari collection or race team.”
