Timerzyanov to enter Los Angeles X Games rallycross

European Rallycross champion Timur Timerzyanov will drive a Marklund Motorsport Volkswagen Polo supercar at the Summer X Games in Los Angeles this weekend.

The 26-year-old Russian, who leads this year's ERX for his regular Citroen squad Hansen Motorsport, will contest the Global Rallycross Championship event in the same Polo Mattias Ekstrom drove at X Games Munich and the Swedish ERX round at Holjes recently.

"Mattias Ekstrom proved, from the recent races in Munich and Sweden, that the car is running extremely well and if everything goes right on the day, I definitely think we can reach the podium with it," he said. "The car has got a great engine and I know the guy who built the chassis I think it's a really got a lot of potential."

The team's regular driver, Anton Marklund, will drive the other Polo in both the rallycross and gymkhana events.
