Nick Allen has been appointed as the successor to Kevin “Rocket” Blanch as IndyCar Officiating’s technical director.

According to multiple sources, Kevin “Rocket” Blanch, the championship-winning IndyCar crew chief who served as the series’ technical director for three decades, has left the new independent IndyCar Officiating group. 

The NTT IndyCar Series has removed its long-running restrictions on when its Push-to-Pass system can be used on road and street course races.

Champ Car, IMSA, and Formula E veteran Scot Elkins has been selected by Penske Entertainment’s Independent Officiating Board.
