WEC: Millennium to miss Spa race too

The Millennium Racing LMP2 squad run by the British Delta-ADR team will be unable to join the World Endurance Championship at Spa at the start of May.

Millennium was forced to withdraw its pair of ORECA-Nissan 03s from the opening WEC event at Silverstone last weekend as a result of a delay in funding from parent company OMD. Those issues have yet to be resolved and explain the absence of the team from the final entry list published for Spa on Friday.

"Nothing has changed from the situation before Silverstone," Delta-ADR team boss Simon Dowson. "I set a deadline of today for Spa. Really it is Monday, but the information I have is that we won't have the funding in our bank account on Monday, so I have communicated that to the WEC. We don't have any option but to wait and think about what we are trying to achieve in the long term."

It is unclear how the funding issues will affect Millennium's assault on the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

The new privateer LMP1 built by the German Lotus team is also missing from the Spa entry list. Its new AER-engined AER was due to undergo its mandatory FIA crash tests this week.
