No IMSA impact expected amid Cadillac president's departure

Today's change of president with the General Motors brand Cadillac is not expected to have an impact on the manufacturers commitment to prototype racing in IMSA's WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

According to a source within the brand, the abrupt departure of South Africa's Johan de Nysschen – an avid racing fan and steady supporter of the Cadillac DPi-V.R program – and the installation of new president Steve Carlisle should take place without having an influence on its IMSA Prototype effort.

Coming off a win last weekend in Long Beach, Cadillac partner team Action Express Racing has taken two victories from three races so far this year, including the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona. The luxury-performance marque currently leads the Prototype Manufacturers' standings and Drivers' championship heading into the May 6 race at Mid-Ohio.
