Formula 1 has released onboard footage of a virtual lap of the new circuit in Hanoi that will see a race held in Vietnam for the first time next season.

The race is due to appear on the 2020 calendar in April, with the Hanoi Street Circuit a 3.458-mile layout in the Vietnamese capital. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the location is some eight miles away from the center of Hanoi, and makes use of both existing streets and a number of roads that are yet to be finished.

With a year to go until the race’s planned debut, F1 has released a lap of the circuit from a simulator, with the layout featuring a number of high-speed sections and long straights between close walls in similar style to Baku.

The race will be the first new addition to the F1 calendar since Liberty Media’s purchase of the sport was completed at the start of 2017. Work began on the new circuit last month, with FIA president Jean Todt laying the foundation stone to signify the start of construction.
