Racers Group dominates Pirelli GT4 qualifying


The Racers Group dual entries locked out the front row of the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West Round 3 competition at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, with Derek DeBoer taking the pole and teammate Kevin Woods siding up in P2.

DeBoer’s No. 17 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR was motivated to a 1m32.001s fast lap that was closely followed by Woods’ effort in the No. 67 Porsche 918 Cayman CS MR. P3 was the RHC Jorgensen / Strom by Strom Motorsports No. 452 BMW M4 GT4 entry with a 1m32.271s driven by Brett Strom.

The first ProAm entry in the grid entered at P4 with Jon Miller’s 1m32.320s in the No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4.

In the second qualifying session for Round 4 positions, BMWs returned the favor to Porsche and locked out the front row, with the No. 19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 posting a 1m31.123s under Gregory Liefooghe’s control and Jason Wolfe in the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 qualifying in a close second at 1m32.250s.

Third was ST Racing teammate Harry Gottsacker, taking the No. 28 BMW M4 GT4 to a 1m32.926s lap for the fourth round of competition.

The green flag for Round 3 drops Friday at 10:00 a.m. PDT and will be live-streamed at GT4-America.com.
