In a damp opening qualifying session for TC America’s TC category at Circuit of The Americas, Jeff Ricca claimed the VP Racing Lubricants Pole Award for Race 1 in the No. 78 GenRacer Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a 2m38.865s. He eclipsed friend and rival Johan Schwartz in the No. 80 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M235iR Cup machine by only 0.058s. Local Texans Classic BMW and Toby Grahovec will start third in the No. 26 BMW M240iR Cup, posting a 2m39.985s in the session.
Steve Streimer, who made the move to Rooster Hall and BMW this off-season, will start fourth with a 2m40.772s. Rounding out the top 5, Lone Star Racing’s Zane Hodgen made his series debut crossed the line with a 2m41.235s in the No. 4 BMW M235iR Cup.
