James Walker Jr. is moving from a Ferrari and the Ferrari Challenge into another Italian machine, announcing today that he will stay with Risi Competizione and drive its new TCR-class Alfa Romeo Giulietta in all rounds of the 2019 TC America series.

“I have been focused on the TCR category since its inception in 2017,” said Walker. “Ferrari Challenge was a great experience, and I am thrilled that the team at Risi Competizione is able to continue on this journey with me.

“Twenty-two years of racing galvanizes the importance of surrounding yourself with the best people and best equipment,” Walker continued. “Risi does both beyond compare. Our two successful years together in Ferrari Challenge will serve as a fantastic platform to launch into TCR.”

Walker will debut the Risi Alfa in this weekend’s season opener at the Circuit of The Americas, a track that’s just 160 miles west of his The Woodlands, Texas, home.

SRO Motorsports America’s new TC America Series creates a unique and exclusive brand identity for the popular touring car class, building off of the success of the inaugural Pirelli World Challenge last year.

Alfa Romeo’s TCR-class Giuliettas are built and homologated by the renowned Milan, Italy-based Romeo Ferraris. The Houston, Texas-based Risi team received the new car just two weeks ago.
