Menard draws pole for Clash race

By

Paul Menard will start from the pole in the Advance Auto Parts Clash as determined by a random drawing.

Crew chief of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford, Greg Erwin, was assisted in drawing the top spot by a USAC midget driver. Each crew chief for the 20 drivers who will participate in the exhibition race did the same.

Sunday’s race will be Menard’s first start in the Clash since 2016, when he finished a career-best third.

Kyle Busch will start second with Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, and Alex Bowman rounding out the top five. Keselowski is the defending race winner.
